Chardon Personal Injury Law Firm Achieves $1.25 Million Settlement

In July 2014, Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan partner; John Liber secured a $1.25 million settlement for a 62-year-old security guard who suffered a debilitating spinal injury while walking his beat at a southern Ohio university.

“It was a hard fought battle which required that we first get the primary legal issue reversed on appeal before being returned to the court for trial,” Liber explained. “The settlement came together as our legal team began intense preparation for the jury trial. The settlement is sufficient to provide our client with some well needed support as he continues to struggle with weakness and mobility challenges from his spine injury.”

Known primarily for its business services and domestic relations practice areas, Thrasher, Dinsmore and Dolan has greatly expanded its injury litigation section since John Liber joined the firm in 2010. Liber observed, “TD&D’s strong presence and reputation in Geauga County has provided an effective launching pad for our personal injury practice and the opening of our Cleveland office. The breadth of legal knowledge, together with the experience and dedication of the attorneys at the firm has created an enviable foundation for the successful pursuit and resolution of personal injury cases.”

The firm has expanded this practice area even more with the addition of former court of appeals judge Mary Jane Trapp, who, along with Liber, Brandon Dynes and Nancy Burroughs, is part of TD&D’s personal injury team.
