Peggy Foley Jones Conducting Virtual Mediation Sessions

Posted On: | Author: | |

TDD is pleased to announce that our Partner, Peggy Foley Jones, Mediator/Arbitrator, now has the ability to conduct Virtual Mediation Sessions.  These “face-to-face” mediations are taking place within a secure online platform using Zoom and will enable your mediation to move forward seamlessly as we continue to adjust to the temporary new normal that has impacted our legal system.

Here is a testimonial from Michael Reardon Esq., who recently participated in one of Peggy’s Zoom mediations:

“I found the Zoom mediation to be a fantastic use of technology which I hope becomes a universal option in the future.  The only ‘real’ difference between attending in person and appearing by Zoom was that I did not spend any time driving downtown or paying to park.  Other than not spending time in my car or paying to park, the experience I had was identical to an in-person mediation.  We had a joint session with all parties present, and then went to our respective “rooms” for the remainder of the mediation.  I had private conversations with Mediator Jones as needed, and I was able to complete other work while the primary parties were in negotiations.  I could not recommend this option more enthusiastically.

Our firm covers hearings across the state, so eliminating the drive time is a real gain in efficiency.  As much as I love driving to Zanesville or Cincinnati, losing 4 to 6 hours driving to attend a half-hour case management conference or mediation is not the best use of my time or my client’s resources.

I would hope that use of this technology is adopted in courtrooms across Ohio as the cost of equipment needed is minimal, and the tech is user friendly.”
